This is the quintessential countryside English pub. As an American visiting the UK, this was the highlight of our whole trip. Stewart the pub owner is beyond helpful. They know all the local sights, histories, and legends. The food is great, the beer is fresh, and the rooms are surprisingly modern and cozy.

Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Nice warm room with superking bed plus massive shower. Nice evening meals and local beer on tap. Dogs made to feel extremely welcome. Will definitely stay again. Highly recommended!
